Wood
The most traditional of all worksurfaces, wood has long been a firm favourite as it can give a kitchen a unique harmony. Wood is a living, breathing material and as such it is imperative it is produced to exacting standards that are priced to reflect both value and quality.
- Our wood supplier is FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) certified and comes from sustainable forests.
- All the staves that make up the worktop are hand-selected for colour match and quality and only A grade pieces are selected for our worktops.
- Once the staves are selected, finger-jointed and glued into long “strands”, they are matched and glued together.
- Once the blank is manufactured if there are any remaining defects, these are machined out and the surface replaced.
- The entire process is carried out in a temperature controlled environment to ensure a stable product.
This attention to detail is applied throughout the manufacturing process of your unique worktop. We continue to check the boards for quality whilst we are machining and the tools, consumable materials and, most importantly, staff training, are all of the highest standard.
