Who is your typical customer?
Someone who is keen to get great value! Our customers recognise they are getting a good deal by buying online as the cost savings of not going through a middle man are passed on to the buyer. A lot of our customers are people looking to renovate or refurbish their kitchen and realise one of the best ways of revitalising it is through a new worksurface. We also install a lot of kitchen worktops in new build houses, whether directly for the client or through building contractors.
Do individual materials vary?
The colour of natural materials can change over the course of excavating a quarry and can even vary over a single block or slab. As a general rule the more movement of colour and veining there is within a slab, the more likely it is to be filled or reinforced to ensure its suitability for manufacture. The variation of colour and the brecciation within the slabs is an inherent part of the nature and beauty of these materials and is not considered to be a fault.
Do I have to complete the Online Quotation System to get a quote?
No. If you prefer you can email/fax a plan of your kitchen and we will create the quote for you. We will also be happy to discuss your requirements over the phone although the nature of the product means the more accurate the information we have to work with the greater chance we have of producing an accurate quote.
Can I save my quotation?
Yes. If you register using the Online Quotation System you will be able to save at any point. Your quote will be saved indefinitely although if there are any price changes these will be automatically updated.
How accurate is the online quotation?
The online quotation system has been designed to enable you to get an exact price for your kitchen worktops, obviously the more accurate the information you provide the less likely it is this quote will change after templating. If after templating there are changes to the original quotation, i.e. increased depth of units, extra cut-outs etc, then we will notify you of the price changes before the order proceeds.
What is a template?
As your worktop is a bespoke fabrication, it is necessary to take an exact replica of the shape to ensure a perfect fit. Traditionally this will be done in hardboard, although digital templating is now becoming more popular, and will allow you to see where sinks, hobs, overhangs etc are going to appear.
Can you template on top of existing worktops?
It is recommended that templating takes place directly onto the carcasses where the worktops will sit. Although it may be possible to template onto existing worktops these would need removing before the date of installation. If there are any tiles/materials on the walls where the worktop will rest it is important these are removed before templating.
Do I need to be present for templating and installation?
We require that you or someone representing yourself is present for both templating and installation. This is essential for clarification of details e.g. the exact location of site joints, hob cut-out, sinks and tap holes etc. and can help avoid any delays in the completion of your worktops.
